History class might’ve been boring for several, but adding romance to history sure does spice it up. The inspiration for Love Amidst the Egyptian Sands came from the legend of how Pharaoh Tutankhamen’s tomb was discovered. An archaeologist named Howard Carter unsealed the tomb in the year 1922. When it was opened, legend has it that Carter fainted at the entrance. This and several other incidents led to talk of a mummy’s curse, but it was the finding itself that captured my interest.
What would it be like to uncover a tomb untouched by humanity for thousands of years? The treasures? The sarcophagus? The adrenaline pounding through your veins at the excitement of this discovery? Ella and Julian become trapped in such a tomb in Love Amidst the Egyptian Sands, but their broken pasts prevent them from savoring the moment of accidental discovery or from escaping. Forced together by a strange twist of fate, the two divulge the pains, losses, and betrayals, shrouding the love in their hearts. Ella and Julian also find a treasure room, a mummy, and false hallways along the way, but is sharing this intimate discovery enough to reignite a passion?
See? Wasn’t I right about how romance spices history up?
