Okay (I say as I rub my hands together). You’ve had plenty of posts to keep your TBB pile growing today, I’m sure. And I’m about to lay another one you. *grin*
Today I’ve been chatting up my Changeling Press aliens. Yep, plural. Seems Sci-fi is an unexpected but thoroughly enjoyable niche for me. I love it! And I love sharing my aliens with you.
So far today I’ve been talking about the Malathix Soul series. Set in the future, the Malathix are a race of alien new to Earth–and they discover that coming to Earth has unintended consequences.
I’m giving you a chance to kick off this series for yourself (even though each story is it’s own), by having a contest. All you have to do is comment on any of my posts , here at the TRS Party Site, and your name is entered. I’ll use random.org in the morning to pick one winner and I’ll post the lucky person right here. The winner will get an ebook copy of Soulless.
In the first story, you get a chance to meet Camden–Theradon’s right hand man. We’re given to believe that Camden already has a mate, thus his soul is safe and his beast is contained. Unfortunately, human women are very different from what Camden knows or expects. He may have his mate, but what good is that when he can’t keep her with him?
Malathix Soul #3
by Ayla Ruse
Genre/Theme: Sci-fi erotic romance, futuristic, aliens, dark desire, shifter
Is it possible to repair two damaged hearts?
Camden Royst lives by a code of honesty and logic. When he bonds with his human, it’s without the emotional upheavals his crewmates suffer. But instead of making his life easier, everything falls to pieces. His female isn’t happy, and for the life of him he can’t understand why.
Deidre Parker always dreamed of being swept off her feet by a tall, handsome alien. When Camden walks into her life, she thinks he’s her dream come true. Except he won’t open up to her, and he picks and chooses what parts of his life she can see. Frustrated, she knows she can’t live with a half-sided arrangement. Even if her heart’s breaking without him.
Camden and Deidre finally decide to lay all their cards on the table, but when all is said and done, will what they reveal be enough to repair their damaged hearts, or will it leave them separate, with jagged ends?

Warm hands brushed her bare belly, and Deidre Parker sighed, smiling in her sleep. Ah, my dream’s finally getting good. She moved pliantly under the dream hands, turning to her back, lifting her hips as her boy shorts slid down and off her legs. Precise touches ran over her calves, across her knees, up her thighs. She parted her legs at the hands’ slightest push, and a hot breath of air fanned her exposed sex. Her cami shirt, rucked up under her breasts, irritated her so she tugged it off, wanting, needing to have nothing between her skin and Camden, for she knew whose hands touched her. Whose mouth now — yes! — covered her sex. She only ever dreamt of Camden Royst, alien extraordinaire… and asshole of relationships.
“Camden,” she called softly. She wavered in her dream, hoping, and yet afraid these sensations were real.
“Mmm.” A muffled reply traveled to her ears before his open mouth pressed against her. His skilled tongue touched her deep, and big arms slid under her thighs, shifting her legs over his shoulders while his hands curved around her belly.
Not opening her eyes, Deidre undulated slowly on the bed as Camden continued to satisfy her. The more she rocked against his mouth, the more her dream dissolved and reality set in. Camden was in her bed. No dream this time.
That he was really here didn’t startle her as much as she thought it would. Maybe because she’d been dreaming of his lovemaking so much lately. His soul, within her, wouldn’t let her rest some nights in her increasing need for the solid weight of his body covering hers. Now that he was here, in her bed, making her head spin, she knew she should push him out. The words formed in her head, but instead of telling him to go away, she asked between breathless pants, “Why have you been away so long?”
He stopped and lifted his head away from her.
“No. Don’t stop,” she told him, reaching out to grab fistfuls of thick hair. She shoved his head back down, and with a chuckle that vibrated against her clit, he resumed pleasuring her.
So many questions ran through her head. It’d been nearly six months since she’d seen him. She should throw him out —
No, his soul in her cried out.
Deidre mentally soothed his soul, her new best friend, and reassured it that even though she was not happy with how Camden handled their relationship, she wasn’t about to turn him away now that she was finally so close —
“So close… oh, so close, Camden. Don’t stop. Yes… yes… YES!”
Deidre shattered. Her thighs squeezed his head, and her hands tugged on his hair as her orgasm ricocheted through her body.
When she finally released him, she opened her eyes and soaked in the sight of her lover outlined against the soft morning light spilling through her window.
Camden pushed up to sit back on his heels and she melted again, just as she had when she’d first laid eyes on him a year ago. Now, he wore only a pair of jeans, leaving his broad, muscular chest exposed to her view. Thick arms, a wide neck and a formidable face always reminded Deidre of some forgotten barbarian warrior. His hair had grown since she’d last seen him, and the dark blond locks brushed the tops of his shoulders. He set one hand on his thigh and massaged his scalp with the other.
“Damn, woman. If you want me bald, just tell me. Don’t go trying to pull the hair out.”
Deidre smiled. Although she hadn’t meant to hurt him, she wasn’t sorry. He deserved no less. In truth, he didn’t deserve to be in her bed, but she was weak when it came to him. To his body. To what he could do to her. The chill air of her cooling unit wafted across her heated labia, and she shuddered. In a glance she saw how his erection strained against his jeans. Her mouth watered and her pussy clenched, desperate to feel him again.
“Camden.” Her voice sounded breathy and needy to her ears, and she cringed inside. She didn’t want to come across as sappy, but right now, nothing else existed for her except him.
